Selling Your Home Faster
Selling your home doesn’t have to be a struggle! I put together some of my favorite tips for sellers. Your home needs to be looking it’s best in every way when it’s for sale. Your realtor should make the process easier, but doing these few things around the house will amp up your home’s appeal.
We're talking spring cleaning on steroids! This includes not only cleaning surfaces and floors, but decluttering and depersonalizing. Put away any extra, unnecessary furniture for photos or Open Houses. A buyer will never picture themselves in a cluttered and dirty home.
Getting professional photos taken of your house will help increase the speed it's sold. Buyers looking online will notice the difference between SmartPhone photos and professional photos.
Let there be light.
Open the blinds to let light in - this includes for photos and Open Houses. Avoid shutting the curtains and blinds - it gives off a dungeon-esque feel and creates a dull ambiance. We want the buyer to see the house in natural light.
Amp up your curb appeal.
The first thing buyers see is the exterior of your house. Make sure you landscaping is under control. The grass should be cut before photos or Open Houses. Flowers are not a necessity, but always appreciated by all.
Choose the right price.
Setting the right asking price helps sell your home faster, as well. If your home is drastically overpriced, no one will put in a bid, and if it’s too low, buyers will be hesitant. Your realtor should help you price your home accurately and fairly.
Set the table.
Put out the place settings on the kitchen table. It looks aesthetically pleasing - a nicely set table and a centerpiece can work wonders on a kitchen or dining room.
Make small upgrades.
You could choose to keep the house as is and list it as a fixer upper, or you could choose to the fix the broken light switch in the basement, or re-paint the chipping bedroom walls. This will give more value to your home.
Your realtor will be there every step of the way to make sure you’re in good hands. If you’re interested in learning more in how to prepare your home to sell faster or need a realtor, don’t hesitate to call or text me at (734) 516-0371 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
